Herefordshire and Worcestershire LTA has served up a first by becoming our first sponsored county, after we signed a three year agreement to sponsor H&W's thriving summer and winter leagues.
Although we only launched in 2009, we have already made great strides in racket sports, including sponsoring marquee tournaments such as the Allam British Open of Squash, and the Statoil Tennis Masters.
The Statoil Masters, a tournament we have sponsored since 2011, has made MANTIS its ball of choice for the event at the Royal Albert Hall - an event that attracts such star names as John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Tim Henman and Stefan Edberg, not to mention Billie Jean King and Elton John.
However, this sponsorship deal with H&W is another important step in the continued success of MANTIS Sport.
It also signals an important step forward for the county, which has seen funding from the British LTA drastically reduced in the past couple of years.
H&W run 32 divisions across its men's (15), womens (13) and mixed (9) summer leagues and an equally busy winter schedule.
In addition, MANTIS, which is already used by many county coaches, will provide balls for all the county tournaments, including the Pegler H&W County Closed Championships at Manor Park in Malvern.
MANTIS Sport are very excited about the partnership, and think that it represents yet more progress for such a young brand.
"Despite being a relatively new brand to the tennis market we have very quickly established ourselves in the UK, and internationally, and have had a fantastic response to all our products. Our philosophy is to deliver exceptional quality products at vastly superior prices.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to team up with the H&W LTA to sponsor its leagues and, in conjunction with our local MANTIS stockists, keep everything within the two counties and touching distance of tennis clubs that play in the league."
The agreement will also have the positive spin-offs as MANTIS is working with local partner retailers to supply balls to the clubs - a positive move to support the local high streets.
Jan Thomas, of H&W's sponsorship and publicity sub-committee, reinforced the excitement that is building around this new partnership.
"The H&W County Association looks forward to working together in partnership with MANTIS.
"Before reaching an agreement we conducted a number of ball trials across different surfaces, by a variety of players and the feedback of the MANTIS All Court Balls, proved very positive.
"Our league programmes remain very well supported by clubs across the two counties, and with the support of MANTIS we look forward to building on that success!"
The new contract starts from the beginning of the 2015 summer league which will be known as the MANTIS Herefordshire and Worcestershire county Tennis League.
