The MANTIS 285 PS tennis racket has been voted “Best Value” in the intermediate section of Tennishead Magazine.
Offering excellent balance of power and control, this highly manoeuvrable frame is an improved version of the original MANTIS 285 that won the ‘Testers Choice Best for Baseliners’ in the same magazine 3 years ago.
Part of the new second generation of MANTIS rackets, the 285 PS joins a selection of other frames as the fast growing brand updates its range.
Tennishead, who describe MANTIS as having a consistent quality, believe this racket is perfect for those looking for a lightweight version of an advanced racket.
They said: “MANTIS’s reputation for clean-looking, clean – hitting frames has another champion in the 285-PS, which is a solid all-rounder with a classic feel that is ideal for all-court players, young and old.
“For those who equate cost with quality, take note: this is a brand that has punched above its weight for some time now and is always worthy of a test drive.
“Long story short: if you’ve got a classic, all-court game and sound strokes, the 285-PS will reward you.”
This second generation of the MANTIS 285, has raised the bar for the brand with several notable improvements.
The lay-up has been enhanced by shifting the balance of the racket slightly to the head, offering more power generation.
Another change is a greater focus on customisation in order to better fit individual players’ needs.
After consulting with international stringers, more tie off holes have been added to enable technicians to use different methods of stringing and get the best performance out of the racket.
Martin Aldridge, Founder and Managing Director of MANTIS, believes that being voted “Best Value” is a just reward for his brands commitment to players.
He said: “Our focus is on the needs of the players and we believe that that doesn’t have to mean higher prices, this award represents that. “
“Our core value is to create premium quality without a premium price tag.”
